Welcome to The Monthly Round-Up. Join me as I look back on the past month to see which books I’ve read, the reviews I’ve posted, the goals I’ve completed and my all important Book of the Month!
| Books Read |
October was one of those months that’s starts off well – in a bookish kind of way – and then real life happens and it gets far too busy to even pick up a book! Hopefully things will be settling down shortly but I’ll try and keep on top of things in the meantime… which would be far easier if I was remotely organised in the first place!
A highlight of this month was attending the Gollancz Book Festival – which I will get round to blogging about shortly – where I bought some awesome sounding books, saw some amazing authors and got many a book signed! My poor October Goals have suffered though which means, except for the one goal I completed, the rest will roll over to November! I am getting very close to completing my Goodreads 2015 Reading Challenge though so… hurrah! Here is the run-down of my October books:

They were such amazing reads! I wasn’t expecting Red Rising to be such a brilliant book but I’m glad to have been wrong!!

6 books is a good amount to finish considering the month got busy for me. Happy reading in November and I hope you have more time to indulge in reading 🙂

Red Rising is a great book – I loved it. And Golden Son is also excellent whilst at the same time being a completely different feel.
Believe it or not I’ve read exactly 97 books too! That’s so weird I just counted up my list (not all mine are posted on Goodreads so that will show a different figure) – and I have two books to deduct – thought I was up to 99 then realised I’ve not read 2 – doh!
I’m kind of hoping to read 10 each for the next month and get to 120 but we’ll see. December is always a busy month and lots of socialising takes it’s toll.
Are you joining in for Sci-fi November – being hosted by Rinn Reads and Over the Effing Rainbow – there’s a readalong of The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet which looks pretty good. First post this Friday – but no stress to post then – any time in the week. It’s supposed to be a good book so I’m gonna join in.

I can’t wait to read Golden Son! And that’s so weird… race to 100? 😛 I was hoping for ten a month too but last month was a definite fail!!
I put my name down a while back for Sci-fi November but I haven’t got around to planning yet! I imagine I’ll hop in a week late as it is now but, as you put it, I can totally use the tardis… right? 😀

haha, I’m the last to put my name down – but technically, with the tardis, I’m not. Yes onto the tardis, now, where’s K9??
