| Top Ten… Books With Plot Twists and Surprises|
Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday where this week we’re looking at the books that gave us the biggest surprises.
I’m fairly certain that the majority of the books I’ve read have provided a good assortment of twists and turns to keep me hanging to the very last. Narrowing the list down therefore is a rather difficult task. This Top Ten considers those books that gave me the biggest surprises when I first read them, and that still surprise me when I think about them now. So, without giving anything away, here are my Top Ten… Books With Plot Twists and Surprises.

A nice list of books here! What do you think about Jennifer Fallon’s Second Son trilogy? Worth reading? She released a book called The Lyre Thief a couple years ago, which I loved…but there’s been no news of a sequel in like forever. I’ve been thinking of going back to some of her older series, but I have no idea where to start.

The sequel to the Lyre Thief is ‘Retribution’ and was released last year 🙂 the third one should be coming some time this year, Fallon announced that she finished writing it a couple of days ago.
And read them all 😀 they are all awesome!

Ah it must have not been released in the US – Tor published the Lyre Thief, and unless the publisher switched, which is rare, I don’t think I’ve even seen it on their catalog yet. But hopefully this means it won’t be far behind!

Ah ok! I hope it’s coming soon! If not, I can always send it over to you 😉

That’s kind of you to offer! I’m confident it should be coming soon though, iirc The Lyre Thief might have been released in the US later too. But it’s good to know the book is out there somewhere in the world, and there’s always the Book Depository if I get desperate, lol 😀

Absolutely worth reading! Such an amazing trilogy 😀 I read it years ago but I’m just itching to do a re-read. I’ve not even read The Lyre Thief yet – it completely slipped my mind!

Oh yes to Girl With All the Gifts. I completed it a week or so ago and was hooked the entire time I listened to the audio book. There is a plot twist in it that really shook me up. It’s what Mellony saw when she was at the theater.

Definitely! I found the final twist almost disappointing though… guess I’m a sucker for a happy ending 😉

Yea, I thought it was disappointing too, but I also liked it for going there.

I know what you mean… in some ways it felt like the right way to take the novel but for me it was such a downer!

Bands of Mourning was awesome as well, that series kept getting better and better

Ooh And Then there Were none- that has me curious. I’ll bet there are some nice twists in Christie’s books! And I’ve heard the Girl With All The Gifts has a nice twist too…

Great list! Jane Eyre is great. I really want to read The Turn of the Screw and Rebecca. Here is my Top Ten Tuesday.

Thank you! 😀 I think I was destined to read The Turn of the Screw as my mother read it to me when I was just a bump!

I must read Rebecca. I think I even own a copy of that book! Great list and thanks for sharing!

It’s an excellent book! It’s such a psychological narrative that you’re not sure which way is up or down or what’s right or wrong! 😀

They’re great, aren’t they?! I’m not sure I enjoyed the final surprise of The Girl With All the Gifts though…. I can take as much blood and violence that an author can throw at me but PLEASE give me a somewhat happy ending 😀

This is a great list:). I don’t know ALL the books on there – but of those I do, the one with the biggest surprise (as far as I was concerned) was The Girl with All the Gifts.

Thanks! 😀 Indeed – it had a few twists and turns throughout but I’m not sure I was completely enamoured with the final surprise… it was quite dark!
