| Top Ten… Series That Should Have Screen Adaptations |
After a rather terrifying experience the week before last, I didn’t get round to completing last Tuesday’s Top Ten post and I’ve been perpetually behind ever since! And with an inordinate number of books I would love to see adapted for TV or film, it wasn’t too much of a stretch to finish last week’s post for distribution to the wider world.

I haven’t actually read any of the books you mentioned. Which one would you recommend most?

They are all so different it would depend entirely on the individual! Even now I’m finding it hard to choose between them…
My top three would probably be Gemmell’s The Rigante series (heroic/epic fantasy), The Nevernight Chronicle (YA fantasy) and the Impossible Times trilogy (Sci Fi/Time Travel).

Oh, Nevernight and The Palace job both look interesting!! I love the cover on The Palace Job.
I’m reading The Poppy War series, and I think it would be amazing to see on TV! I also think there’s not enough non dark fantasy adaptations so it would be nice to see more of that. I think Percy Jackson is coming out with a TV series, and I can’t wait to see it.

Oh I need to read The Poppy War series! I have the first two books so I’m glad it has such good recommendations!
And yes to that please! The Palace Job is such fun, I think it would make a really good lighthearted fantasy TV series 😀

Yes! I loved the first book. It’s not lighthearted, but the character development was phenomenal.

Oh that sounds wonderful! I will definitely bump it up my list! 😀

If these do get screen adaptations, I hope they are good. So many times adaptations don’t do the books justice! Here is our Top Ten Tuesday

I know, that’s the worry! I always try to keep in mind that I would usually prefer any form of art to exist relating to a book I love than none at all…. within reason of course!

Rivers of London is in the process of being adapted to a TV show! 😀 I am looking forward to see it, but also a bit nervous about the outcome since I love the series (especially the earlier books).

Yay!!! Well that’s exciting – here’s hoping they don’t mess it up!! 😀

What a terrifying experience! My worst nightmare when my kids were little was them going missing. The times when I turned around in some busy place and couldn’t spot them immediately were absolutely panic-inducing.
I haven’t read any of the books you mentioned, but I’m sure they would make great films!
Happy TTT!

Thank you! 😀 Spellslinger is so much fun – especially if you like incredibly angry and sarcastic squirrel cats who talk too much!

Fabulous list, Proxy! I particularly love the idea of Spellslinger – it’s such a dramatic series, with so many highs and lows – I think it would make a brilliant transition for TV. And ditto The Rivers of London – Peter Grant is such a cool character:)). And the series I would like to add to that – The Lady Astronaut series – I think it would be brilliant to have that televised.

Thanks, Sarah! Apparently Simon Pegg and Nick Frost might be making Rivers of London! And I really cannot wait to read The Lady Astronaut series, your reviews were very good and very tempting! 😀
