Welcome to Music Monday – a weekly meme created by The Tattooed Book Geek – where we share the songs we love, the bands we like and the music we just can’t get out of our heads.
This week’s Music Monday is Svitjod, an ambient Nordic folk track by Forndom from their dark, beautiful and melodic album Dauðra Dura. This is an evocative, ambient and highly listenable track which could easily form the backdrop to many a fantasy or Norse inspired read. Powerful and atmospheric, Svitjod truly is an awe-inspiring piece of music.

What are you listening to at the moment?
Sitting outside early in the morning just after the rain stopped. Must is rising from the fields. Autumn starts, it is cold.
That’s how this music feels for me.

That’s exactly the feeling it evokes! Such an atmospheric piece of music! 😀

I’ve just listened to other pieces from the band. That wasn’t that good – boring, standard Black Metal, mostly copy paste stuff. Even the cover and the typescript are boring. I guess, those nordish bands are allowed to do that 🙂

Oops, my fault: that was a different band, with album “svitjod”. Oh my 🙂

😂 I was just replying saying that surprises me as I hadn’t heard any black metal on their previous album! But you never know what a new album might bring… 😂

I am still a little too in love with ‘Throw A Coin to the Witcher’, but I have also discovered these lovely Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings ambience videos, which have become my new obsession. 🙂
